Mobile Internet Services in Mexico

Three cell phone providers in Mexico offer wireless Internet services to the public. Telcel, IUSACELL,and Pegaso all offer services that let you receive messages on a digital cell phone via SMS technology. The browsing capabilities, however, are very different.

The most liberate browsing experience is available from IUSACELL, which lets you surf to any site on the mobile internet using WAP. Telcel also utilizes WAP technology and offers a large variety of services which are grouped into different packages, but only lets you surf to predetermined sites.Text-only browsing to predetermined sites is also available from Pegaso, which uses the WAP predecessor protocol HDML.
